 2023 Summer Reading

All students entering the 9th -12th grades are strongly encouraged to read for at least twenty minutes per day over the summer. It is suggested that students choose from the attached recommended list for class discussions at the start of the 2023 school year. If you plan to read any titles not listed here, please reach out to your ELA teacher prior to the first day of school and make sure they approve of the titles chosen.

It is also strongly recommended that students take notes on any books read, to help remember characters, conflict, plot sequence, and theme. There is a note-taking template provided which can be copied and added to google drive, or printed out for hand-written notes.

Junior Honors
Required Reading: Please select at least 1 text from the recommended SHS Summer Reading list and read it this summer. Please come prepared to utilize this text & share out in class when we return to school. Thank you!
