Download the audio version of your book and listen to it whilst reading. Just reading alone will not help your pronunciation because English is not a phonetic language. If you are hearing the word as you read it, your brain will make the connection, and next time you see that word, you will know how to pronounce it. And next time you hear that word, you will know how it’s spelt. I encourage you to try out this method because it will transmute your reading retention, your spelling, your vocabulary, your pronunciation, and your listening skills. |

From Learning Ally:
Students who qualify may have an IEP or 504 plan, but those are not requirements. It is up to the educators at your school to determine student eligibility. If an educator determines that a student is not able to keep up with grade-level reading due to struggles with decoding, fluency, and/or comprehension, then they can qualify them. As long as 1 eligible student is participating, then the books can be used for whole group or small group instruction. Virtually, this may be in a Zoom session where the teacher plays the book for the group by sharing their screen and audio. This Virtual Strategy Guide provides some other ways to engage students virtually. See enclosed document. |
